one line poetry

I had the very great luck to come across Chalkboard on Medium, a wonderful publication filled with imaginative poetry. Every week a prompt is posted up, with readers encourage to create their own One Line poem of 30 words or less. These poetry sketches, training almost, have been a brilliant way to get writing again – write quickly, finish quickly, stretch your thinking with quick improvisation, and on themes that may not have entertained before – it’s transformed my writing: I write, let go and move on much more quickly now – a joy!

The Chalkboard community is filled with such lovely, talented writers. It’s fantastic to see what others come up with for the same prompt. If you’re a creative type, I recommend taking a trip over and joining in!

Now I have quite a few One Line poems under my belt (they usually appear at first) and apparently I’ve managed to write over 100 fairytale sketches at The Last Pearl over the last few years, I decided to bring everything together in one place – A one-stop shop for me to see everything easily… plus with any luck a little project like this might make me write more consistently!
