one line poetry

I had the very great luck to come across Chalkboard on Medium, a wonderful publication filled with imaginative poetry. Every week a prompt is posted up, with readers encourage to create their own One Line poem of 30 words or less. These poetry sketches, training almost, have been a brilliant way to get writing again – write quickly, finish quickly, stretch your thinking with quick improvisation, and on themes that may not have entertained before – it’s transformed my writing: I write, let go and move on much more quickly now – a joy!

The Chalkboard community is filled with such lovely, talented writers. It’s fantastic to see what others come up with for the same prompt. If you’re a creative type, I recommend taking a trip over and joining in!

Now I have quite a few One Line poems under my belt (they usually appear at medium.com/@cieturvey first) and apparently I’ve managed to write over 100 fairytale sketches at The Last Pearl over the last few years, I decided to bring everything together in one place – instagram.com/cie.turvey. A one-stop shop for me to see everything easily… plus with any luck a little project like this might make me write more consistently!
